Diving is the real attraction in south Thailand
Many people from all over the world come every year to enjoy underwater adventures in the Andaman Sea. Most popular are Similan Islands about 100 km north off Khao Lak and liveaboard anywhere around.Another prime liveabord excursion is a scuba trip to Myanmar with a private yacht to explore the pristine dive grounds between Kawthaung at the border and the Myeik Archipelago.
Here is a trip:
Start at Tap Lamu Pier |
Another great scuba diving destination with live aboard possibility is Sharm el Sheikh and Hurghada in the red sea. Although it can't match the holiday environment of south Thailand it would be a good alternative for a underwater enthusiast. They have a few shipwrecks which are for sure a real temptation.

Another great island destination is between Phuket and Krabi, that is the small archipelago of Phi-Phi.
