This is one of the south's hidden gem, a pretty drop in the Andaman Sea.
Koh Lanta is a bit difficult to access although only about 40 km south of Krabi airport which is directly at the main 4 lane highway. It needs two ferry rides, first to the small island and after to the big one, in high season it might take a while to wait.
